In this article, I want to show you all of the different types of podcast software on the market.  We need software for a range of tasks in podcasting, and the choice of application is huge. Podcast software plays a very important role in editing and recording audio and videos. 

  • Pros: The competition encourages great tools and good platforms that help us out.

  • Cons:  The sheer variety makes it helluva confusing when you are starting.

Recording Software

To record a podcast, start to record yourself. It is because

  1. running a solo podcast -just you and your mic, talking to your audience every week
  2. recording a solo section for a podcast -an intro, an outro, a slot, a news update.

The solo show is a good option. It is a simple and suitable way to spread your message. In either case, you need to record yourself, and that means having a bit of podcast software that can quickly capture your voice.

If you want to be comfortable in where and when you record, you can use a web application to record, rather than software on one computer.

Editing and Production Software

When we record our show, the next task is editing and production. Editing usually means the process of cutting up your recordings and putting them back together again as one episode. That can mean adding music, removing mistakes, combining two or more recordings and much more.
 




Computer-Based Editing

You are also designed for editing and production. I talked about DAWs -computer-based podcast software-earlier as a recording tool. Audacity is free, but a little clunky, and Audition is more expensive but powerful.

Planning  Podcast Software

Planning podcast software is important. Right now we use two tools 

  • Trello
  • Notion

Trello helps us keep a track of the tasks to be done, from booking in an interview to publishing the show. The notion is for the information that goes along with that, such as scripts and research of guest there are interesting tools of podcast software coming out for podcasters in future, but nothing I can recommend quite yet.

Adobe Audition 

 Price: $20,99 per month as a single app, free is also available.

Compatibility: Windows.


It is really good podcast software. If you are looking for podcast software that is easy to edit and record then you should go for it.

Pros:

  • Powerful Reverb.
  • DeNoice effect

Cons :

  • Aimed only at professional users.

Podcasters have been using audacity for decades. You can also you audacity to record live audio through microphones or a mixer.

Pros: offers a wide array of audio recording options for free.

Rich audio effects library. 

Cons: outdated interface design.
Equipped with basic audio editing tools.
